How Nevada handles it
- Marriage certificate custodian differs by county: in Clark County (population 700,000+, ordinance under NRS 246.100) certificates are filed with and copied by the County Clerk; elsewhere they are recorded by the County Recorder (e.g. Washoe).2
- Clark County district court records are kept by the Eighth Judicial District Court Clerk of the Court (not the County Clerk's office, which handles marriage and business services).7
