Certified copy fee

$1.00 per page for a certified copy of a document (up to 8½x14); $5.00 for a certified copy of a plat, map or survey (Tenn. Code Ann. § 8-21-1001)2

Standard: $10.00 per document (up to 2 pages), +$5.00 each page over two, +$5.00 each extra instrument; plats $15.00; plus a $2.00 data-processing fee per non-UCC instrument (T.C.A. § 8-21-1001)2
Military discharge
Military discharge (DD-214) records recorded with the Register are confidential for 75 years; only the veteran, family, representatives, government and the funeral home may inspect or copy (T.C.A. § 10-7-513)5

Liens and judgments are recorded with the Register at the standard per-page rate (Davidson: $5/page, $10 minimum + $2 DP fee)6

  • Davidson County Register of Deeds warns that private companies mail offers to provide a copy of your deed for much more than the office charges; a certified copy from the Register is $1.00 per page53

Official copies vs look-alike sites

A certified copy comes only from the office that holds the record; reports and "research copies" sold by commercial sites are not issued by any Tennessee office. How to tell an official record source from a paid look-alike.
