How Kansas handles it

  • Real estate sales prices are confidential: the Sales Validation Questionnaire filed with deeds is available only to specified parties7
  • Mechanic's liens are filed with the clerk of the district court, not the Register of Deeds5
  • The Kansas Secretary of State does not register DBA/assumed names8

Official copies vs look-alike sites

A certified copy comes only from the office that holds the record; reports and "research copies" sold by commercial sites are not issued by any Kansas office. How to tell an official record source from a paid look-alike.
